My journey began as an immigrant from Iraq, where I served as a translator for the US military. The experience instilled in me a deep sense of duty, adaptability, and a profound appreciation for the power of communication. I continued working as a translator while managing personnel for a security company, and upon arriving in America in 2006, I pursued a graduate degree in English Literature while teaching Arabic at Portland State University.

The warmth and support I received from the community inspired me to give back. Leading cross-cultural presentations, forums, and meetings at various educational institutions, churches, and non-profit organizations became my way of paying it forward. I even started an Arabic teaching program at Lincoln High School with the help and encouragement of faculty.

My dedication and determination didn’t go unnoticed. Soon after, I was chosen as a language instructor at the prestigious Defense Language Institute, selected from a competitive pool of over 200 Arabic teachers. I spearheaded the first-ever dialect pilot program, creating and teaching specialized materials to military students. The experience sharpened my communication skills and reinforced my commitment to excellence.

While accomplishing professional milestones, I also embraced the joy of motherhood. Devoting myself to raising my wonderful son, I actively participated in his school community as a dedicated volunteer. Teaching Art Literacy, assisting teachers, and supporting students’ reading skills were just a few ways I made a positive impact.

But life is about growth and continuous improvement. I nourished my physical, mental, and emotional well-being by earning a Crossfit coaching certificate and diving deep into courses on mental and emotional health. The desire to evolve led me to pursue my long-standing interest in real estate.

After dedicating myself to mastering the necessary skills and knowledge, I achieved my certification as a Realtor for the state of Oregon. The opportunity to combine my expertise, diverse experiences, and unwavering commitment to serving others is truly an honor in this dynamic field.
